Social Issues: Commuters
Aren’t we all tired of obnoxious commuters who just spoils your simple travel to something so unbearable? Today my discussion is about the few types of commuters that just grind my gears.
Commuter No.1 : Never ever abides by the MRT “allow passengers to alight before boarding” policy.
Is it really that hard? Just stand at the side of the gates and let everyone out first before boarding. There really ain’t a need to rush if you’re afraid that the gates might close before you get in. The only reason why it seems so fast is because you have spent too much time creating a human traffic jam at the gate creating a stalemate of alighting and boarding passengers thus slowing traffic tragically. If you’re just dying for that seat, perhaps you could ask for one should you really need it that desperately. Why cause inconvenience to everyone around you just so you can benefit? Singapore no longer the radiant lion city after traveling on a public transport.
Commuter No.2: Pushy people who are “mute”
These people are the stupidest and probably mute. In order for them to get off their seat (bus) or alight from the train, they will shove their way around be it using their hands, arms, legs, pelvic thrusting(strange i know). If you need people to be AWARE that you want to move across, please say “excuse me”. Passengers don’t have eyes that covers a 360 view around them to notice that you want to get off.
Commuter No.3: The Rushers! similar to No.1 but appears on buses
The rushers have a tendency to be the first to board the bus, and the first to alight the bus. They will dive into the crowd and shove their way to the front. Being first gives you more liberation to choose your seats but on a peak period where you very well know there are NO seats left. Don’t be stupid and annoy everyone around you, makes me want to trip this people. Being first doesn’t give you a prize. These commuters also need to be at the alighting doors first. When the bus/train is packed with people they just can’t wait till the vehicle comes to a stop to start saying excuse me but they have to whilst its moving. Never mind if they don’t really create any trouble, but a moderate percentage of them cannot balance thus they’ll lose balance and upon gaining back that balance they knocked many other people and perhaps stomped on several feet in that process. Show some PATIENCE!
many more unmentioned but still at large

Anyway all is good so far.. haven’t really figured what my project for this blog is for so far.. haven’t had time to go figure.. HOWEVER i’m sure i’ll come up with something soon..
Long Holiday
Just had a long weekend. Off since Friday till Tuesday. Tomorrow’s class i’m expecting nothing interesting but guess work needs to be done anyway.
Happy National Day to Singapore. “Celebrated” at Nic’s house or basically supported our dear teacher, Doctor Samuel Wong. Hsinghai before it was horrible, it drove my mind mental. I just snapped out of focus, became very dazed. Hope the following practices coming won’t be as horrible. Before going to Nic’s house, XueQi and I took the chance to go play Daiko Drummer at iluma’s arcade. Quite fun other than a slightly non-responsive drum. 4 stars.
Went out today with Ben and Brian for lunch at first, was suppose to meet my classmates in the evening for some party however it got cancelled due to lack of people going so ended up spending the whole day with Ben and Brian. Really fun day, my first trip to ION Orchard and we had Swenson’s Ice-Cream buffet. I ended up making exotic art with Ice-Cream (R21). After which we went to Orchard Central, another new building I have never been to. Guess today is the day I explored Orchard, we also went to check out 3 monkeys, found that Kumar performs every fri/sat at 11pm. Look forward to going someday.
Preparing for school tomorrow (wonder what does it consist of).
New Menu
Disastrous to have academic writing classes at 9am in the morning. Nobody is in the mood, neither is the lecturer. Shaw Hong is a hilarious lecturer and he nicely let us off early
We started taking snapshots for Eilena’s class contact list, the theme was white and I was the only one in my own white party. Some of the shots were hilarious but they were generally fine. Kudos to Sophie (our beloved class rep) and Sylvia (life saver).

Pose Fail
We went off to have lunch at Hotspot. A few of us wanted Ban Mee (Ban Mian), so we had a total of 4 bowls. David went off to get a cup of ice that costs 20c and guess what happened next? He literally poured the whole cup of ice into the Ban Mee, it was completely amusing and hilarious. I came up with the joke that he should order from the lady “Auntie I want Ban Mian Peng (Ban Mee Ice)” in future. Everyone just started burst out laughing, definitely a new taste for a new menu.
Went to Bras Basah with everyone to take a look at the second-hand bookshops in search of a management book for the Arts as text for Suyin’s class. However the search was a bit futile although I personally didn’t really bother because i’m going to use the journals instead.
Everyone split into their own ways and I went to Bugis to meet Ben, then went back to LASALLE to play Xishuang Banna with him for fun. After a while he started playing Korean Pop instead and I decided to just keep creating counter melodies, quite fun while it lasted I suppose. Then we headed off to the prata place next to NAFA, ate a late lunch/tea and then headed for home.
1st official day of class
Had my first official day of class. Quite fun in a sense that I was transferred to Class A the evening before. Prefer the people in Class A more. A more exciting environment and definitely much more cheerful.
Class started off with Eilena, learnt that we were going to have to do attatchments with galleries, exhibitions and productions. Quite a lot of work but I suppose we will scrape by. We had an introductory excercise and I found David’s Salsa in heels absolutely hilarious. We had to introduce our partner to the class so everybody adopted the idea of swapping roles with their partners however Edlyn and I stuck with our own roles and we adopted a Talk Show format instead. Doesn’t this make us more creative since everyone else was doing the same thing?
Had lunch at 15minutes, found it very amusing to have salad in a jar. I ordered a Caesar Salad and i got a jar of vegetables. Turns out to be easier mixing the salad than having it in a bowl however the looks of it are still rather peculiar but it was okay. Nothing fantastic.
After having Principles of Arts Management with Suyin, the group of us went to 15minutes to celebrate Al’s birthday with a toast of Johnnie Walker’s Black Label. We were all fed with cake thanks to Edlyn and Debrah for purchasing and Mama Dora for feeding each and everyone of us. What a way to start of the school year by ending the first day tipsy. Happy Birthday Al.
Super Mario Bros NDS
I have finally finished playing Mario and for the first time I actually completed it. Never ever passed World 1 since it was in Gameboy. Guess the wonders of technology do help achieve certain goals.
How was the game?
- How much can you expect from it?
- The usual of Bowser kidnapping Princess Peach and Mario is off to the rescue. - How much more fun is it?
- There are more power-ups in the new version I guess. Turtle Mario, Giant Mario, Tiny Mario - Why did I play it?
- It’s a fun game to kill time with, challenges you to think especially in the later stages where it becomes more obstacle based instead of the regular hopping on monsters or shooting them down(which does not work on all now) - What should you do after reading this?
- Try playing it

Pilot
Hey all, decided to pick up a fresher cleaner look. Practising better english and cleaner styles of writing with the moral support of a minimalist cover. Perhaps this could be a startof something much more interesting. We’ll see in time to come.
Today was quite a dazed day for me. Tired out from the regular weekends with orchestra practices and worst of all, I just found out that my uncle has been admitted to the hospital. Reason being that he fell of the Rambutan tree in the midst of harvesting. So far everything seems to be fine, a broken shoulder and a slight split in the head.
Income is coming in slow, wished I went to get revenue instead. Guess its a problem most of us face, the lack of money. With proper planning i’m sure we can get somewhere.
School is starting in a few more weeks, excited I am. Happy are the others who envy me of my long holiday.
Can’t think of much else to jot down. Guess that is all for now.
Scribbled off…
